Gateways

Monitor and maintain Linux enforcement points.

A private gateway terminates tunnels near applications. It is separate from Orbit public egress.

Operate gateways#

  1. Open Network → Gateways and filter by Online, Degraded, or Offline.
  2. Open a gateway to inspect status, version, sessions, tunnel address, and reported networks.
  3. Edit its name or set Exit Node to Enabled when it should carry internet egress.
  4. Add LAN CIDRs on Networks only when configuring site-to-site.

Upgrade required and Update available are informational; update the host package outside Console.

Remove a gateway#

Removing revokes it and causes shutdown after its next check-in. Revoked gateway references are not silently removed from services. Open each affected service, remove the revoked gateway, and save.

Gateway enrollment is Linux-only. If a new gateway remains offline, generate a fresh enrollment code and verify host outbound connectivity.
